Relatively speaking, the sickle-shaped fan blades are quieter during operation, but the wind pressure is also smaller; the trapezoidal fan blades are prone to generate larger wind pressure, but the noise is relatively larger. The folded edge type is the best design and can generate greater wind pressure while maintaining low noise, but it occurs less frequently.
Number of leaves
CPU fan blades usually range from 6 to 12 blades.
Generally speaking, those with a smaller number of blades tend to produce greater wind pressure, but also have greater operating noise; while those with a larger number of blades are just the opposite.
Wind direction
There are two types: axial flow type and centrifugal type.
As the name suggests, the air outlet direction of the axial flow type is along the direction of the fan axis, that is, the direction perpendicular to the rotating surface of the blades; the air outlet direction of the centrifugal type is in all directions along the radial direction of the rotating surface of the blades. From a practical effect point of view, the wind produced by the centrifugal fan cannot be fully utilized during operation, but will increase the working noise, so it is not a good choice. However, coolers using centrifugal fans are easier to achieve in a very thin shape, so they are often used in some graphics card cooling systems.
